Pitt Law Welcomes Two New Members to Its Board of Visitors

The University of Pittsburgh School of Law is proud to announce the appointment of Lucy Fato (JD ’90) and Gregory B. Jordan (JD ’84) to its Board of Visitors.

The Board of Visitors is composed of distinguished leaders across law, business, and public service who bring invaluable expertise and insight to Pitt Law’s strategic planning. Each member provides diversity in professional experience and excellence relevant to all facets of the Law School’s strategic vision.

Lucy Fato (JD ’90) is General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Seaport Entertainment. She previously served as Vice Chair of American International Group, Inc. (AIG), where she also held roles as General Counsel and Global Head of Communications and Government Affairs. Earlier in her career, Fato was General Counsel of McGraw-Hill Financial (now S&P Global), Head of the Americas and General Counsel at Nardello & Co., and Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Marsh McLennan. She began her career as a capital markets attorney at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where she was a partner in the firm’s Corporate Department. Fato also serves on the advisory board of the Harvard Law School Center on the Legal Profession and on the board of directors of the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation. 

Gregory B. Jordan (JD ’84) recently retired as General Counsel and Chief Administrative Officer of PNC Financial Services Group, where he oversaw legal affairs and key corporate functions, including Ethics, Communications, and the PNC Foundation. He played a pivotal role in major transactions, including PNC’s acquisition of BBVA USA. Before joining PNC, Jordan served as Global Managing Partner of Reed Smith, leading the firm’s growth into one of the world’s largest law firms with more than $1 billion in revenue and 1,800 lawyers across 25 offices. He currently serves as Chairman of the Highmark Health Board of Directors and on the boards of Highmark Health, MSA Safety Inc., and the Pro Bono Institute. At Pitt Law, Jordan was a member of the Law Review and Order of the Coif, graduating cum laude. He has been honored as a University of Pittsburgh Legacy Laureate and recipient of the 225 Medallion, the University’s highest alumni distinction. He most recently returned to Pitt Law as the 2025 Commencement keynote speaker.
