Mr. Overstreet is a partner in the firm of Overstreet & Nestor, LLC and, for more than twenty years, has maintained a regulatory, land use and litigation practice spanning several substantive disciplines with an emphasis on energy and environmental matters. Mr. Overstreet is licensed in, and represents clients across, Pennsylvania and Ohio from his office in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His clients include small, private companies and as well as publicly traded multi-nationals and state and national trade associations. Mr. Overstreet assists clients with permit and license applications submitted to municipal, state and federal agencies and defends against third-party appeals of regulatory approvals secured by his clients. He also advises clients with respect to compliance with federal and state environmental laws and regulations and defends against enforcement actions by regulators.
Mr. Overstreet appears frequently before administrative tribunals and reviewing courts throughout the United States and has successfully prosecuted federal civil rights actions against state and local officials. He has served as first-chair in jury and non-jury trials in state and federal courts and has counseled clients being investigated for alleged environmental crimes. As an advisor, Mr. Overstreet supervises client teams conducting environmental compliance audits and due diligence and has served as lead environmental counsel in connection with international transactions. Mr. Overstreet is an adjunct professor at the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law and is a graduate of Villanova University School of Law and the Pennsylvania State University.
